David Shockey was recognized as the KSBA Beekeeper of the Year for this tireless effort with KCHP, KSBA secretary and treasurer, mentorship, etc.
Bee School will be held at ECTC on March 21. This was be a joint venture with KSBA’s spring meeting.
Phyllis Lonneman was recognized for her 18 years of extraordinary effort in support of HCBA as the secretary.
American Beekeeping Federation Conference and Tradeshow, January 8-11, 2020 in Schaumburg, Illinois (near Chicago).

HCBA will start accepting membership renewals for 2020. KSBA and KCHP will do the same. No meeting next month (December). Next meeting will be Jan 9.
Great thanksgiving theme potluck with lots of food options along with a great turn out.
It’s okay to start putting on winter patties but still monitor to prevent wax moth from thriving in them.
Place your entrance reducer and mouse guards as the weather transition from fall to winter. Biggest problem your bees face during winter months will be starvation, varroa mites and moisture. Varroa mites maybe the underlying issue going into winter that could be misconstrued as starvation and dead outs.
Joe Taylor gave a presentation on making candy boards. He distributed recipes and instructions.
